Over The Moon Dog Agility

Foundation for Agility

$25 Per Hour (Maximum 4 Students)

Prerequisite

  • Dogs should come when called, have a sit and a stay.
  • Dogs cannot be aggressive towards people or other dogs.


Here’s what we’ll cover:

  • This fun class will provide you and your dog with the key foundation skills for successful agility training.
  • Start line stay: teaching your dog to stay put until released.
  • Establishing a reliable release word and rapid recalls, so your dog quickly returns to your side.
  • Proofing the dog’s stay while you learn the movement of the three basic crosses: the front cross, rear cross, and blind cross. This exercise is practiced without obstacles while the dog holds the stay.
  • Flatwork skills: learning how to wrap the dog around a jump wing in both directions and send the dog around a wing in both directions.
  • Introducing the tunnel.
  • Training on contact boards and going over the contact exit requirements.
  • Creating and building a toy drive to improve handler and dog engagement.
  • The importance of reward and its timing.

Beginner's Agility

$25 Per Hour (Maximum 4 Students)

Prerequisite

  • Must have successfully completed Foundation Class Agility


Here’s what we’ll cover:

  • Introduction to low contacts on the dogwalk, a-frame, and teeter, which will prepare your dog for full-height contacts in later classes.
  • Understanding of 2×2 weave poles, which are a great way to teach your dog weaving skills.
  • Focus on handling skills.
  • Introduction to short sequences, which will challenge your dog’s agility skills.
  • Jump box work drills, which will improve your dog’s jumping technique.
  • Beginning handling skills while the handler is adding turns and side changes, which will help you and your dog work together as a team.
  • Side changes in sequence, which will test your dog’s ability to switch between obstacles.
  • Moving on to a set of 6 weave poles, which will further improve your dog’s weaving skills.
  • Moving towards running a series of short beginner courses, which will give you and your dog the chance to apply all the skills you’ve learned so far.

Advanced Agility

$25 Per Hour (Maximum 4 Students)

Prerequisite

  • Must have successfully completed Beginner Agility


Here’s what we’ll cover:

  • Introduction to running full-size courses, which will challenge you and your dog’s speed and accuracy.
  • Introduction to a full set of weave poles, including weave pole side changes in and out and distance sends skills.
  • Discrimination obstacle skills, which will teach your dog how to differentiate between two obstacles that are close together.
  • Introduction of backside sends, threadles, and serpentines, which will test your dog’s flexibility and focus.
  • Work towards adding distance skills to your training, so your dog can run and complete obstacles without you being right next to them.

By the end of this class, you and your dog will have mastered a variety of advanced agility skills that will prepare you for competition or just having fun together! We can’t wait to see you both in our Advanced Agility course.

Competition Agility

$25 Per Hour (Maximum 4 Students)

Prerequisite

  • To join this course, all teams must have completed the Advanced class with success.


Here’s what we’ll cover:

  • This course is designed for teams who are starting to compete or just want to enjoy the sport with their dog for fun.
  • We will set up and practice various agility games offered by different affiliations while still building and developing the foundation tools to run agility courses with confidence.
  • Our focus will be on obstacle performance and learning to strategize and execute throughout the agility course.
  • We will build a skill set for the team to run the course with complete proficiency and knowledge of every obstacle.
  • By the end of the class, handlers should be able to guide their dogs through an 18-obstacle course with 4 or 5 side changes.
  • For those interested in competing, we will also cover entry forms and how to fill them out.

Private Lesson

$40 For 30 Minute

Prerequisite

  • Open to all skill levels, from beginners to advanced handlers.

  • You’ll have the flexibility to choose the topics you want to focus on, such as improving your dog’s contact performance, refining handling techniques, or perfecting weave pole entries.
  • Our trainers will provide expert guidance, feedback, and support as you and your dog progress through the training plan.
  • Private lessons are ideal for those who prefer individual attention, have specific training objectives, or need a more flexible schedule.
